Review of The Raven (2012) by Julia V — 06 Sep 2012
I must admit that I have seen worse films in the past and this piece is well-done in fact, truly, some dialogues are plain and boring-- also some unfitting actions (as for example in the tunnel as Poe screams Emily's name, which made me laugh for how unfitting it was set).
Though I'd like to say that Cusack was one of the better choices to play Poe, I always used to like the actor in fact I would have much preferred Ewan McGregor, as well. If the director/the writers had put more effort in the plot's twist and especially the roles, then the other actors in this film, especially Evans, would have shun.
But alas, I still like this film and there is much worse, as aforesaid, on screen this year and the past year. I think audiences are slowly spoiled with those few good films coming out.
