A movie that fails to be compelling. The dialogue is stiff and John Cusack chews the scenery like he hasn't ever acted before. What could have been the next From Hell turned out to be a real disappointment.
It was almost borderline offensive of Poe, but it is obvious that the filmmaker loved his work and respected him. It's just to bad they didn't make a good movie.
