Review of The Rat Pack (1998) by Burt M — 30 May 2008
I love biographies. I love a film that tries to shed a light on a subject that I feel is worthy of such attention. This film shines a keen light on the Rat Pack, a warts and all biography that doesn't shy away from the high and low lights of Sinatra and his crew.
However, the film is very disjointed and only really shines the light toward Sinatra and his dealings with the Kennedys. Great performances, but I would have love to have seen more of why Martin was such a loner or why Joey Bishop was not considered a true member of the pack (he is only included ina few brief scenes).
Great performances, but really this film doesn't do these guys any justice.
