Review of The Ramen Girl (2008) by Carolina H — 21 Apr 2010
This movie made me hungry, even right now. Brittany Murphy is surprisingly good as the ramen girl and her interactions with the gruff ramen-nazi (wonderfully played by Toshiyuki Nishida) are hilarious.
The development of the relationship between the two of them was very well done. They really reminded me of the two characters form Love, Acutally who speak different languages. This was really very sweet and charming.
Not really a romantic comedy since there wasn't really a love interest. More about self discovery and growing into the person you are not who you think you should be. Really likeable whimsical movie where the characters aren't rushed into situations or focused to fall in love just for the hell of it.
Everything just felt natural.
