A beautifully crafted film in which Colin Firth does a very fine job portraying Eric Lomax in this story based on the true life experiences of the author. The inner pain and anguish after having been a Japanese prisoner of war haunts the character and eats away at his soul.
Nicole Kidman as his wife does all she can to help him deal with the ghosts of his past.
