Review of The Railway Man (2013) by Hardy C — 01 May 2014
An unconvincing movie, I'm afraid. The torture this guy is shown as having suffered frankly doesn't strike me as being that godawful; after all, he bled very little and was in reasonably good shape when he was liberated.
I just never bought into the premise that his war experience had left him so scarred he couldn't function very well. It's not so much the acting as a weak script and pedestrian directing.
