Review of The Railway Man (2013) by Matt D — 15 Sep 2014

I now know why this movie came and went with so little fanfare. It is neither good nor bad. It merely exists.

It is as if everyone involved in the project decided to just turn in the most serviceable work possible but not an ounce more. It feels very much like a movie of the week that I might have watched on network television during my childhood. It would have been a very good one mind you - but for a modern cinematic drama it really makes you yearn for something more memorable.
