Review of The Raid 2 (2014) by Brandon W — 22 Feb 2015
Even though John Wick is one of the best action films of 2014, it's only the second best and it's not as exciting as The Raid 2. THIS is how you make a sequel. Make it bigger, make it different but still make it feel like it's still a Raid movie, and don't make it dumber.
The acting is still great, and the new supporting cast, both either play good or bad, are really good too. The fight scenes are still just as energetic and fun as the first movie, but extended. The camerawork is quite impressive and I never seen it shot that way which is really cool.
The villains are memorable, and the soundtrack is really catchy. The plot indefinitely improved and it doesn't have unnecessary scenes, even the hobo killer is necessary to the movie too and the character could've been just pointless to the story, but the movie created enough character to this person that I started to feel sorry for.
The car chase scenes are spectacular and the way it's filmed, it's really cool. The Raid 2 has everything of what the viewers want out of it that made the first one so memorable, but actually improves it that makes it a rare sequel that's better than the first movie.
