Review of The Quiet Man (1952) by Matthew D — 07 Oct 2007
If viewed from a 21st century social world, you will not enjoy the gender roles. But if you can suspend your own judgement and try and view the film from not only a post-WWII world, but also a world that is not even in the United States, you will enjoy this slow-building juggernaut of a film.
I watch this film several times a year; the love story, the climatic 15 minute fight, the 'cultural' nuances -- all make this a fun way to spend a couple hours.
