Review of The Quiet Earth (1985) by Robb J — 30 Mar 2008
The Quiet Earth is one of those last man on earth films. Made in '85 And really a unheard of film. I loved it. I just recently discovered its existence. The film is a great character study. The first half is with Bruno Lawrence's character running around acting the fool. Its funny and sometime sad to see him go through all the emotions one would in the same situation.
Iam sure alot will be disapointed by its pace and lack of action. But I think the film benifits from these elements. And the ending shot is nothing short of beautiful and poetic.
