Review of The Quick and the Dead (1995) by Landon M — 28 Dec 2007
I loved this movie. Sam Raimi's directing was amazing--the choices that he made in the cuts and camera angles intensify the action onscreen. Great acting abounds, but the best performance comes from Sharon Stone, who plays against type wonderfully as a woman who's not quite comfortable in her own skin.
This film's ultimate achievement is how it pays homage to the American Western without seeming campy or contrived.
