This is a bit of a guilty pleasure film for me. Everytime it's on TV I try and catch it. It's certainly not anyone's best film but it's bloody fun! I love Sam Raimi's style here, especially during the duel scenes.

Sharon Stone is terribly miscast (although I can't really think of anyone else who could play the part any better) and is acted off the screen by everyone else. Actually her character is the most boring one here and I wish more time could have been spent with Hackman and Crowe as their scenes together rock and they lift the whole thing to a different level.

Hell, even DiCaprio's character has more going for him than Stone's and he looks like he's having a ball. Apparently Hackman didn't like Raimi's style during filming but this doesn't show and in fact this tension might have made his performance even better.

One to watch late at night with your mates (damn, forgot it also has Henriksen and David in there as gunfighters. How cool is that!) and just press the fast forward button every time Stone tries to act intense.
