Review of The Quick and the Dead (1995) by Baurushan J — 01 Apr 2012
This was the first western movie I watched and I loved it. The story is about Ellen who is a mysterious female gunslinger rides into a western town where they have quick-draw artists compete with each other and Ellen is forced into the game only to seek revenge on the evil corrupt mayor Herod who has taken over the town and forced to kill Ellen's dad when she was young.
As each battle loses the ranks of players, the game gets more and more serious as she draws against Cort the fastest draw in the West and Herod's colleague and Herod's son known as "The Kid" killed off facing his own father Herod.
In the final showdown, Ellen fakes her death against her draw against Cort in the semi-finals and arrives for her final showdown to actually kill Herod. Finally her vengeance is over as she rides away from the town.
This movie was excellent as it was directed by Sam Raimi who gave us the black comedy The Evil Dead trilogy. The Quick And The Dead gets a decent 10/10.
