Review of The Queen of Versailles (2012) by Hugh M — 27 Aug 2012

I felt like I needed to take a shower after seeing this movie. I had read an article about the Siegel's in the Wall St Journal well over a year ago and seeing the movie certainly completed the picture. David Siegel is nothing more than a narcissistic sociopath on the grandest of scales. His bombastic claims early in the picture of delivering Florida to George Bush, illegally no less, smacked of a person so self absorbed that I couldn't help but root for his downfall to come as quickly as possible. His disgusting treatment of his first family, no mention of the second family and now his utter disregard for his horrifically disfunctional third family would be comical if not so sad. Some reviewers have mentioned that they are rooting for the wife by the end of the film. Really? 8 kids, 3 "servants" and a 27,000 sq ft home and they can't pick up the dog shit..

This movie is a must see, if only for the appalling factor!
