Review of The Queen of Versailles (2012) by Kimberly S — 15 Sep 2012
Jackie Siegel was way more complex than I expected her to be. A compulsive shopper, status conscious, and completely oblivious to the real lives and needs of her domestic workers and children? Yes. Smarter and more compassionate with strangers---that was a surprise.
Nothing surprising about her ego-tastical, soulless husband though. A demonstration of traditional gender roles run amok.
