After watching the Bling Ring one has to ask "what is going on in America?" Wealth and fame are out of control. The Queen of Versailles is a documentary about that starts out thinking that it is going to tell the story of David and Jackie Siegel building the biggest house in America.

David Seigel made billions in selling time shares - Jackie is his wife. During the making of the movie and half way through building their dream home - the economy falls apart in 2008. David essentially loses all of his money.

The documentary quickly change course and shows us what happens to this family when they lose all their wealth. The story is both comedic and sad. David appears to be quite shallow and incredibly detached from his family.

Jackie tries to keep the family together but struggles with domestic duties because she has never had to do them. It's a sad movie because their lives are defined by their wealth not their relationships.
