Review of The Queen of Versailles (2012) by Rick F — 08 Aug 2012

Three stars for a film I highly recommend. Why? Because it was very well done and had a lesson for all of us in it. It was interesting, timely, and thought provoking. But the bad guys, aka, the Queen and King of Versailles, who were evil selfish bast***s and who deserved all the bad things coming to them were treated way too sympathetically.

This is a case study in class consciousness, sadly something the wealthy in the US understand too much and the underclasses understand too little, and indeed disregard all together. This film, however, makes you think about how the greedy, the arrogant, the selfish, the wealthy control our lives.

But, damn, why did the makers of this film feel that these people should be shown in such a good light?!!
