Review of The Queen (2006) by Sarah C — 24 Mar 2009
A good film. Possibly not a great one, but blessed with a decent, occasionally inspired script. Mirren is justifiably lauded for her performance, but in fact it is Sheen's Blair that is th heart of this film.
The real events give this an air of 'true story' that perhaps on unfair on the protagonists, but as a document of the way we perceive our figures of power, it is still compelling. Thoroughly engaging, albeit slight.
