Review of The Queen (2006) by Rafael D — 19 Apr 2009
Helen Mirren was wonderful, but the script was a dud. It felt like a Made- for-TV movie from the 1980's. Way too much bad supposition is going on here.
Whatever ill feelings there were or may have been between the Queen and Lady Diana, what possible advantage could the Queen the hope to get from being less than gracious? She's been Queen too many decades to be petty.
I would love to see a film that dealt with the complex emotions of this famous family, but not on the level of an afternnon soap.
