Review of The Queen (2006) by Rebecca L — 18 Nov 2009

This film was absolutely amazing. Helen Mirren is probably one of the best British Actresses of all time so I was expecting something pretty impressive but I can honestly I was really overwhelmed.

The writing is fantastic and the pace is perfect. It was strange seeing an event I remember very clearly being presented on the screen but it didn't feel over dramatic or false in any way.

The way the action cut from 'real life' to screenplay was near enough seamless (well, in a way... it was obvious but it didn't feel out of place). The actors all played their parts amazingly well without any hint of characature but still managed to be really funny, honest and moving.

I real masterpeice and a very unexpected (and emotional) delight for me!
