Review of The Queen (2006) by Hassan I — 25 Aug 2011
Stephen Frears' 'The Queen' is a moving, intense, and interesting protrayal of events in the Royal Family. It relies on a brilliant screenplay, excellent performances, and Oscar-worthy direction.
Helen Mirren gives a realistically stunning performance as Queen Elizabeth II in this beautiful film. Michael Sheen is also terrific, definitely at his best. Frears' direction is undeniable and simply beautiful in every circumstance.
Peter Morgan's screenplay is amazing and also quite accurate in many ways. An overall must-see of a film that's worth every second of a viewing.
