Review of The Queen (2006) by Bradford D — 01 Apr 2011
If you watched CNN in 1997 then you have already seen half of this movie. It consists of news footage of Diana's life, death, and rebirth as a hero for the commoners (whoever they may be). The rest of this is just speculation and second-hand accounts dramatizing what could have happened ( I doubt that the Queen wrote the screenplay from her diary).
The movie presents us with two unsympathetic protagonists: The Royals; representative of a irrelevant and archaic tradition of "rule through bloodline" , and Tony Blair and staff; representing Government, those sycophantic panderers and manipulators of public opinion.
Two options, but zero good choices. Hmm... sounds like our Presidential elections.
