If you do not believe in the american dream then stay at home because you will not like this movie. This movie is about the lost values of most americans. I found the message refreshing but I must admit the hardships seen can be overwhelming by the end of the movie.
Then again, to get the payoff of the ending you have to sit through some hard times, much like the main character.
