Review of The Purge: Election Year (2016) by David S — 04 Jul 2016
Bloodier and more gruesome than the previous films, the third Purge installment, like the second, is far greater than the lackluster first film. It's more of the same, sickening view of people's subconscious desires if they could get away with, literally, murder and other terrible crimes.
There are some funny parts, like the girl obsessing over the candy bar, but mostly just jaw-dropping bloodshed. It's just pure entertainment when knowing it's all make-believe. It'd be a sick world if s**t like this existed.
But for sitting in a theater for a few mindless hours, have at it.
