Review of The Purge: Election Year (2016) by Kristofer H — 01 Jul 2016
Blumhouse has a great model in place. They take an interesting property, give it a modest budget, market the film well, and turn out a huge profit. Sometimes we get Saw, Hush, or Paranormal Activity. Other times we get The Darkness or The Purge: Election Year.
.. This movie has some of the worst dialog, acting, and tonal confusion of any movie this year. Frank Grillo was solid as always, Elizabeth Mitchell was good, but everything else did not mesh. Good concept, bad execution.
