Review of The Purge: Election Year (2016) by Nate Z — 14 Jul 2016
It's great to see b-movie essence films hitting the mainstream, and The Purge is a fine example. The first two entries we're silly, but had a thrilling edge and a fairly assured direction. However, the third installment falls short, especially in the script and narrative structure, as there is a great lack of originality, effective pacing and set-pieces.
If a fourth take is going to happen, it needs to be more daring, thrilling and inventive.
