This is one of those film trilogies that defies logic and actually improves with each film. The first film was passable and just okay. The 2nd was better, while not being anything special and this third film is actually fairly good.
The premise has always been quite a good set-up and this film does more with it than the previous two. It does suffer from some weird choices, dodgy acting, clichés and silly coincidences - but overall it delivers.
If you want to see what an America would look like under Trump, this probably isn't far off! Worth a watch if you liked the previous Purge films. 3 stars out of 5.
