Review of The Purge: Election Year (2016) by Tanya R — 14 Aug 2016
Warning: Contains Spoilers.
The Purge is a series of movies that have to do of a national day where murder and any crime is legal for 12 hours. I have watched all 3 movies and I think personally that this one is the best. This is my review of The Purge: Election Year. Unlike the other two this one teaches us that anyone can stop something that they don't believe is right by passion, good hearts and determination. Senator Joan is a woman who when she was young was the only one who survived the Purge in her family. She became a senator and is running for the presidential spot. She hopes that if she wins she can end the Purge once and for all. But the NFFA, the organization behind all this Purge madness is angry and during the Purge they plan to kidnap her and kill her. They call it Purge and Purify. So it was a day before the Purge and there is a new law that says all government officials cannot be protected and this is an opportunity that pops up for the Senator. She thinks that if she shows people she can survive without being treated like a princess people will vote for her. And in my opinion that is right. I believe you should win by showing people you're like them, not above them. So on the Purge the senator stays in her house and her security is overrun by the NFFA and all her security is killed except for one guard. So she goes to the streets with her only trustful guard and prepares for any challenges that might come their way. They run into some foreign purgers and they try to kill her, but a group of African Americans help her. They are really fond of her work and would do anything to help her. They take her to a safe house and she shows everybody she's not a mean government official. She stops the citizens from killing the minister or leader of the NFFA. Even though her close friends made really big sacrifices and a few of them died, it was a success. She won the presidential election and ended the Purge.
