Review of The Purge: Election Year (2016) by Frances H — 26 Jul 2017
Yes, it does have a very timely message! A government that claims to be so Christian but takes away the healthcare of its most vulnerable people is tha same kind of criminally murderous government as the one depicted here! And a government that pollutes the earth, air and water that its people need to survive.
The exaggeration is only slight. When a Republican Congressman publicly says that the women senators who voted against the Trumpcare bill should be killed, then we are not far way. When the police can shoot whomever they want for no reason and not be punished, we are not far away.
When a technician at the local hospital resents that poor children have CHIP, then we are not far away. When a Republican senator has brain surgery at an excellent hospital that saves his life thanks to that facility and good doctors then rushes back to DC to take healthcare from the poor, we are not far away.
When the poorest taxpayers pay more than billionaires percentage-wise and the president charges us 60 million dollars to go to his own hotels and was put into power by a hostile dictator because he laundered money for the man's Mafia, we are not far away.
