Review of The Purge: Anarchy (2014) by Yoloswag4Doge — 07 Jul 2016
It's a very absurd movie, but in that respect it's no different than everyone's beloved super hero action porn. Definitely a lot more fleshed out than the first. I was able to get quite attached to the characters and though the story was a bit slow at times the second half really gets going.
It has a very mad max feel as if for 12 hours the country falls into an apocalypse. In the end though if you can't role with the silly premise than it won't be enjoyable and there's quite a bit of brutality to it so it's only going to appeal to a niche audience.
(The Fight Club kind of audience).
