Review of The Purge: Anarchy (2014) by Lamontraymond — 24 Jul 2014
Not nearly as unnerving or interesting as the first film. The politics are mundane. Casting the white folks as the wealthy purgers (and the stupid couple breaking down and stranded in the city) is ignorant.
Casting the masked street gang as all young black males is equally as ignorant. It's slightly thrilling, but SO much more could have been done with the concept.
