Review of The Purge: Anarchy (2014) by Betty T — 16 Aug 2016
I really really wanted to enjoy The Purge. The cinematography was brilliantly done, however I feel like the team behind this film spent so much money on good camera men and lighting crews that they forgot about hiring a decent script writer.
I found myself face palming at nearly every scene.. The scenes were slow and painful to watch at some points. The cast seem to repeat there lines over and over because clearly saying it once doesn't cut it.
The consent is terrible but that isn't what it wrong with this film because I feel like they were so close to making it right and then just blew all the money in some areas and completely dismissed others.
There is no continuity and no character development so you literally couldn't care less who dies or not. In all, nearly, but not quite.
