Review of The Purge: Anarchy (2014) by Hellholehorror — 03 Oct 2022

If you were given the concept of anything is legal for a night then this is the film that you would make. In that regard it is less original than the first one and generally predictable. Lots of killing and action, sexual violence, much less moral questioning, people fighting the system they disagree with.

For mindless action it's good but much more forgettable than the first film. I can only imagine the sequels go further with the revolution against the purge. I also think the prequel could be more interesting than this film whilst the idea is fresh in the fictional world.

Well made and entertaining but not as engaging as the previous one.
