Review of The Purge (2013) by Eric S — 09 Jul 2014
They took an interesting idea and did nothing with it. This film is riddled with problems in the script, the dialogue is terrible, it does every cliche in the book, the acting isn't good, the villains are terrible, and above all, this is just another regular home invasion thriller that we have seen a million times.
Another big problem with this movie is that it doesn't really expand on the concept of purging. It just focuses on one family in one house for an hour and a half. Another problem with this film is that you have to wait a whole hour before you actually get some action or when the home invasion actually starts.
Then when it does start, it only lasts for 30 minutes. Jeez, I really hope The Purge: Anarchy is better than this.
