Review of The Punisher (2004) by Ross M — 14 Dec 2009
This is as easily as good as the new sequel Punisher: War Zone, but good for different reasons, this was based on a rather good graphic novel, which was unfortunately butchered until you get the storyline of this film, which you can live with, not everything would work on screen, for example the fight with the Russian, in the comic the Russian is huge, there is not a person alive who looks like that, so it was never going to happen.
But this just is violent enough, which is frankly the trademark of the punisher, an element that was rectified in War Zone, and Thomas Jane who is a much better actor than the no name who plays the punisher in War Zone.
