Review of The Punisher (2004) by David N — 03 May 2010
Let's start off with NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Though this movie was not complete garbage, it was nowhere close to what it could've been.
I'll say this much, the punisher is a character hard to put into film and not have it fall under a steven Segal movie or any other hollywood cheesy meathead movie. It's got a very simple story that can be summed up in one sentence. So if you put all that aside, I would like to know why the Russian was used in this for less than like a minute. They did not use Frank's Main Villain. The acting was sooooooooo bad. Thomas Jane playing Frank Castle looked Like The Punisher mixed with Baywatch.
The way the movie was shot was awful. It wasn't dark or gritty or anything of that sort. I won't lie, ill admit that some of the Kill scenes were cool and all and the torturing scene was funny but that won't win me over.
This is a movie I would strongly suggest you rent it or watch it whenever it's on TV. But don't buy it or if you went to watch it in theatres like I did, I would just like to say "I'm Sorry". But if I were to put this into the batch of other Superhero movies, This is not the worst. So watch it for yourself whenever it's on TV.
