Never heard of the comic strip and in general am not a fan of comic book movies, luckily The Punisher is less comic book more reality based action (though most action is never really reality based). The Punisher doesn't have the greatest acting but Jane, Travolta and the rest of the cast do decent enough jobs to make the movie enjoyable.
The Punisher is never going to be trumped as one of the better comic book movies, but it shouldn't be dumped on either. The Punisher is just an average flick for a fun Friday night movie.
