It wasn't perfect, but this was a great origin story. Some have complained about there being too much moping -- but that's a huge component of Castle's transformation, and, ultimately, is what drives him to be the ultimate vigilante.
If he had just gone right out and done it without a moment's hesitation, this would be *just* an action movie, and it's supposed to be more than that. It is.
