Review of The Punisher (2004) by Carl S — 13 May 2012
The strongest asset in this film is how perfectly Thomas Jane embodies Frank Castle. Granted, I'm not a huge Punisher fan; he always works best as a temporary supporting character for Cap, Spiderman or Daredevil. Nevertheless, he's a pretty shallow character, but Jane brings an intensity to the role.
The film has a few particularly tedious and/or unnecessary scenes, but it retells The Punisher's origin well and does an effective job making it disturbing.
