Review of The Punisher (2004) by Matthew K — 04 Aug 2012
Despite the Tomatometer rating, this is a very well-done action film and adaptation of the Marvel Comics character. Though, if it comes down to watching either the theatrical or director's cut, definitely go with the director's cut.
It includes scenes that create more depth for Castle while also adding to the incredibly depressing atmosphere. Thomas Jane is great as the eponymous character, and Travolta is hammy and entertaining as the villain.
This is one of the better Marvel adaptations, and definitely worth a watch.
