Review of The Punisher (2004) by Critic M — 22 Apr 2014
"The Punisher" was done right in this brilliant 2004 version. Thomas Jane IS The Punisher and Travolta portrays a great villain, Howard Saint. For anyone who hasn't seen this gritty hero flick, I'd highly recommend checking it out. This was a great time when Marvel released R-rated material and didn't hold back. For a character like The Punisher, this was the right time to make a film about him.
This origin story is very dark and unforgiving. There is plenty of action, violence and adrenaline to keep you on the edge of your seat.
Do not confuse this film with the lame 2008 "Punisher War Zone", that film is unrelated and was terrible in every way. This version with Thomas Jane is the real deal.
"The Punisher" packs a punch and is a skull smashing good time.
