Review of The Puffy Chair (2006) by Matt G — 31 May 2010
This movie is certainly not for everyone, but I found myself loving it more and more as it went along.I mean, with a title like The Puffy Chair, you know it's going to be a little...different. It certainly has a very homemade feel to it but that doesn't take away from the movie at all.
I think it adds personality to it and gives it authenticity. The whole movie feels very real and genuine. I thought the acting was actually fairly good and the storyline kept my attention. I do always enjoy a good story about cross country road trips and "finding yourself" and that deal with real life and relationships and this movie did all that.
I thought a lot of good things were said throughout this film and most of the conversations are ones I think we've found ourselves having with somebody in our lives, at some point in our lives. And call me crazy, but I loved the out there, hippy brother in this movie, also.
An incredibly offbeat, low budget flick that I was very wary about going into and ended up loving, in a very strange sort of way.
