Review of The Puffy Chair (2006) by Daniel K — 05 Sep 2010
Almost in spite of the typical Mumblecore cinematography (where's a focus puller when you need him/her?), this was enjoyable - that is, when it focused on Mark and Katie. When brother Rhett came in talking up bad vibes like Donald Sutherland in Kelly's Heroes and did some really stupid things (which could be understandable), it's just distracting from the main plot.
The improv was hit or miss; usually it worked, but sometimes the 'dudes' and 'mans' got to be a bit much in some instances. If truth is what they were going for for the most part they succeeded.
