For what it is, a mumblecore journey into young love and growing up in your twenties, 'The Puff Chair' is a masterpiece. There isn't a single unconvincing moment in the entire running time because each scene is trembling with authenticity.

It's truly amazing how the film feels like a simple documentary of a few days in the life of a couple and their new age brother and yet it never bores and you never think 'Oh, this is heightened reality' because the ditzy camera, off-handed acting, and the delicate script are finely edited into a series of moments that we've fallen into in between the dull, everyday stuff.

My pal who showed it to me said he would never dare watch this movie with a girlfriend because each conversation in the movie is so true to conversations we've all had that it's impossible for the same topics of the heart to come up after watching the film.

That was an awesome thing to hear and I think that's, in a nutshell, why the movie succeeds so well.
