Review of The Proposition (2005) by Tej H — 30 Nov 2010
Written by Nick Cave (!) and starring Ray Winstone and Guy Pearce. Wasn't quite as good as I'd expected it to be. Ray Winstone looks out of place, the pacing could have done with a few tweaks, the plot was nothing special.
I thought it would be something like The Assassination of Jesse James but in the Australian outback, and I was half right, but it is certainly inferior in both dialogue and execution. That said the cinematography and soundtrack (written, incidentally, but the same collaborators behind The Assassination of Jesse James - Nick Cave and Warren Ellis) by themselves are worth watching this for.
And Guy Pearce + Danny Huston = some fucking good acting. Love them both.
