Review of The Proposition (2005) by Abhishek S — 30 Jan 2011
Great imagery, vibrant colors, beautiful settings. It's nice to see a western about Australia that isn't called "Australia". There are less cut-aways from the gory action, which provides a viceral, Roots-esque feel.
Pearce exudes a rugged intensity that puts Eastwood to shame. Gritty realism evokes Killshot and The Lookout. Amazing amount of flies.
