Review of The Promotion (2008) by Anthony S — 03 Feb 2009
Despite its many tonal problems, I found myself enjoying this film. It's a comedy with humor based in discomfort, which I usually hate, because it rarely works. But the discomfort is rooted in humanity, and these two men are not nearly as nasty as most characters in modern comedies (see Four Christmases, Bride Wars, etc.
). It's an uneven comedy, but a nice one.
