Review of The Promotion (2008) by Teemu P — 04 Mar 2009

I feel like this movie was a missed opportunity. This could have been a very interesting commentary on goals and competitiveness if it had been written better. I actually think John C. Reilly did a pretty good job, avoiding goofiness and even playing dramatic enough to almost be heartbreaking at times.

I think if they would have downplayed the attempts at being a comedy and focused more on characters, this would have been a lot better. Oh, and Jenna Fischer made my heart flutter as usual. All in all not a terrible movie, but it could definitely use a rewrite.
