Review of The Promotion (2008) by Michael L — 20 Apr 2009
Where "Waiting. . ." was good at dealing with the everyday happenings of waiters and waitresses, this movie is very good at capturing the variety of events that occur in a supermarket. The movie is focused on Doug (Seann William Scott) and newcomer Richard (John C.
Reilly) competing for the title of manager of the new supermarket being built. Despite its uneven tone at points, the movie's sharp satirical moments and well-written script make it worth seeing.
