Review of The Promotion (2008) by Alexander P. G — 03 Dec 2009
Directorial debut of Steve Conrad (who wrote the excellent and underrated 'The Weather Man') is an engaging comedy of awkwardness. John C. Reilly is great as always, and Seann William Scott plays against the obnoxious personalities he's played in other movies to be actually pretty likable.
It has its flaws - a few unconvincing plot contrivances, a weak ending - but all in all, it's a well-made character-driven comedy that delivers some solid laughs.
